Bikes, 2018. Etching, limited edition print, experimental version 2/3. Purple, grey & blue.
 
I took a course on printmaking during upper secondary school, and this is one of the limited original prints remaining from that time. In the beginning, I named the series of prints Bikes.  Later on, I wasn't fully satisfied with the name and felt like it didn't capture what I was trying to communicate with the artwork.
 
Though I already had several prints carrying the name Bikes, I renamed the overall series The Ride of Your Life after a song with that name by John Gregory. The name is also a reference to all the bikes illustrated in the image, as well as to the girl reading a book - how even reading a book can be quite a ride! So ready or not, life is a ride and this is the ride of our lives.
